I take consulting and contract work through Haiku IKE, on my own or embedded in your team.

What I do

Fractional CTO. Technical strategy and architecture, hiring, and the hands-on work that goes with them.
Technical leadership. Leading teams through every phase of product development. I usually work with startups and small teams, up to about fifteen people.
AI/ML engineering. Retrieval-augmented generation, agents, evaluation and computer vision, built to run in production.
Software engineering. Python, TypeScript and React, and the infrastructure to ship them.

Crypho — co-founder and CTO, 2012–2021. An end-to-end encrypted messenger for companies and organisations, used by the Norwegian National Security Authority, Oslo Police and Telemark Hospital among others. Acquired by Techstep ASA.
Oslo University Hospital, Department of Medical Genetics — Head of Engineering for a team of sixteen, 2022–2023, after leading the engineering of ELLA, an open-source tool for the clinical interpretation of genetic variants. Built ML models that classify patient descriptions into Human Phenotype Ontology categories.
Kongsberg Discovery — computer-vision models for real-time object detection and segmentation on the HullSkater, a robot that cleans the hulls of large vessels, 2024–2025.
n8n — AI components for the workflow automation tool, 2025. Co-built the evaluations framework, the n8n MCP server and the Qdrant vector-store integration.
Dubious — CTO, 2023–2024. Bootstrapped the MVP of an alternate-reality game whose AI characters keep memory, personality and context.
Earlier: ENISA's web platform, where I was also Security Officer; Jarn, with clients including Elkjøp and the Nordic Council; consulting for the United Nations and Nokia.
